Holidays

YOUR CHURCH provides paid time off for all eligible staff members for 10 holidays each year. Below is a list of YOUR CHURCH paid holidays:

1. New Year’s Day (January 1^st)
2. Martin Luther King Junior’s Birthday (3^rd Monday in January)
3. Presidents’ Day (3^rd Monday in February)
4. Memorial Day (last Monday in May)
5. Independence Day (July 4^th)
6. Labor Day (1^st Monday in September)
7. Columbus Day (2^nd Monday in October)
8. Thanksgiving (4^th Thursday in November)
9. The Day After Thanksgiving (4^th Friday in November)
10. Christmas (December 25^th)
11. New Year’s Eve (December 31^st)

Staff members in the following employment categories are eligible for paid time off for the above listed holidays:

• Regular Full-Time
• Regular Part-Time

If a recognized holiday falls on a Saturday, YOUR CHURCH will observe it on the Friday before the holiday. If a recognized holiday falls on a Sunday, YOUR CHURCH will observe it on the Monday after the holiday.

If a staff member is eligible for a paid holiday and is on a paid absence such as vacation, the staff member will receive holiday pay instead of vacation pay for that day. If eligible nonexempt staff members work on a recognized holiday, they will receive holiday pay plus their wages at their straight-time rate for the hours they worked on the holiday.
