Yesterday’s gathering of independent Christian church leaders from the northeast was a HUGE success! There were almost 80 in attendance, participating in breakout discussions on various ministry topics including a session for Senior Pastors led by Rick Stedman, the keynote speaker. During and following lunch, leaders shared experiences and details of recent church plant successes as well as other significant details about their ministries. There was a 3 point basketball shooting contest and the first annual “Paul Williams is my Homeboy” contest. That’s right! Participants answered trivia questions about Paul (Orchard Group’s Chairman). Phil Strunk, Buxmont Christian Church Preaching Minister, won the award – a blue blazer now known as “The Blue Jacket.”
Rick Stedman (Adventure Christian Church, Roseville, California) shared his story, encouraging church leaders to persevere in the face of trial and adversity.
The purpose of the Summit is to create an environment for northeastern independent Christian church leaders to network with one another, sharing ideas and being there for each other through the ups and downs of leading in the local church. Friendships are forming and church leaders are building lasting relationships.
