Why is the 4th Sunday in July one of the most attended Sundays we have all year? Because of Kids’ Camp! It’s that simple.
We pull out all the stops and do something the 3rd week in July that is pretty special. This year we’re expecting more than 1,400 kids between age 4 and going into the 6th grade. It’s pretty crazy to manage parking and traffic flow between 8:45 and 9:15 in the morning when all of these kids are being dropped off by their parents. Needless to say, it takes a whole bunch of volunteers to make this and the whole camp happen every year.
I’m happy to say that we’ve done this for 17 years now (we had a Kids’ Camp before we had our first service) and there are loyal volunteers who plan their vacations around Kids’ Camp every year! Pretty cool, huh? We have between 350 and 400 volunteers who faithfully help make Kids’ Camp happen. It’s pretty cool to see them all there during camp, all wearing the same Kids’ Camp T-Shirt.
Here’s the highlights video we shoot, edit, and show on Kids’ Camp Sunday every year …
