I recently came across a new concept in operations and leadership from a friend of mine. Joe Homan is an industry leader in pharmaceutical operations, as well as President of Edspire, Inc., which provides enterprise solutions that help leaders execute any operation within an organization. Joe is also a 12-year military veteran who took his years of military training and translated what he learned into the corporate world.
In his new book, called Do, Move and Communicate, Joe introduces what he calls the “Results and Operations Integrated Model” or ROI Model. This model, which includes planning, execution, and communication, helps develop goals that are clear and easily communicated to team members throughout an organization.
As I’ve written before, much of what I think of as my “leadership style,” originates from my time spent in the United States Navy, so I can identify with taking military concepts and adapting them for the corporate and even church environment.
